We offer two different 1-on-1 personal fitness options:

  • Transitional Fitness

Transitional Fitness often gets mistaken for personal training. But it is a customized approach to fitness that goes beyond a generic workout routine. Working in tandem with our physical therapy and occupational therapy teams, we tailor each 1-on-1 session to your body’s unique needs, ensuring progress and injury prevention or recovery. However, we welcome clients with all sorts of fitness needs as described above. So you don’t have to be a PT client to schedule a session! We’re here to help everyone achieve their best self!

What to Expect During Your Sessions

Sessions typically occur once per week, although frequency can vary. They begin with tailored warm-up and mobility exercises, followed by core work and targeted strength training. We focus on improving strength, flexibility, balance, and mobility based on your individual goals. We utilize a variety of equipment, such as dumbbells, kettlebells, bands, balance tools, stability balls, and body weight exercises.

Clients often experience improvements in strength, mobility, balance, and stability. Results vary based on individual dedication and consistency. Progress is tracked through various measures, including weight progression, endurance, balance assessments, and mobility benchmarks.

  • Traditional & Therapeutic Pilates

At A Life In Balance Wellness Center, our 1-on-1 Pilates programs stand out compared to traditional Pilates offerings. They are unique in that they offer a private workout tailored to your specific needs, and our sessions are comprehensive, incorporating a variety of equipment to provide a low-impact, full-body workout experience. We provide both traditional Pilates sessions and therapeutic Pilates, which complements your ongoing physical and/or occupational therapy sessions.

What to Expect During Your Sessions

During a Pilates session, our certified instructor will guide you through a series of exercises tailored to you. It’s a diverse workout in that you’ll be doing some work on a mat, as well as using spring-based, specialized Pilates equipment (chair, reformer and tower). This equipment allows for a wide range of simple, repetitive exercises that target specific muscle groups and improve overall body strength, flexibility, and coordination.

One of the key benefits of Pilates—particularly due to its equipment—is its adaptability. The exercises can be adjusted to provide gentle strength training for rehabilitation purposes or a more intense workout for skilled athletes. This versatility makes Pilates suitable for individuals of all fitness levels and goals.
